The State of Team /X/

Calling all............... anybody. I think it's safe to say that this forum is on the verge of death. Frankly, I don't want to see that happen. I rather like this place and very much enjoy the discussions, few they may be, that go on here. I dunno what happened. We were doing quite well at the beginning, but I'm just guessing that overall enthusiasm for the project has dropped. Most of the people who join now sign up and don't contribute anything or are complete nutjobs who have to be removed.
So here's the idea. Anybody that would in some way still consider themselves an active user, drop a line here and be prepared to discuss. We need to do something to keep this place afloat. Any sort of suggestion regarding recruiting or activities or something to keep the forum from falling into complete disuse.
PLEASE contribute if you have any ideas. I don't want to be the crazed captain, all alone on the abandoned ship yelling for the non-existent crew to raise the mast and hoist the colors. Cause I'll do it. I swear. Yar. *drinks a bunch of rum*

I think that simply having more members is the best solution, although I don't know how to get them. I can't think of any sort of free advertising that would actually work.

Only reason I'm not more active is because nobody posts new things. Razz

One thing we can do is start topics on other forums, leading them to ours. Like say start a topic about 'lol I've been having weird dreams, discuss' and later on bring up 'Oh, I found this forum, it's really cool about all the paranormal whatsits'
It could work.

Awhile back in the IRC I mentioned maybe starting a website for the forum. I kind of looked into a bit but it never got off the ground. Next week is the last week of summer classes, so I might get around to it after its ends.

I was thinking maybe a blogsite, but then I figured a blog is practically a type of forum so there wouldn't really be a point. Then I was thinking a maybe a wiki site, but there's already WikiBri/x/ and its mostly dead...

It's quite sad. I love this place and everyone in it, but there's not much we can do without more members or more topics. I guess it's just hard because nothing paranormal happens too often to any of us. Perhaps we should all summon shadow beings and hang out with some of them for a few days. I'm sure we'd have a lot to report after that. Okay, but seriously, I agree with Canada.

If gas prices ever go down, more of us can probably go on investigations and stuff.

New topics to discuss are always good, but as of late I'm almost the only person that actually makes them and few people respond. I really do think that the only way to actually get activity, besides getting new members, is to investigate. That is more or less the reason we were formed in the beginning is to check out the paranormal and report back with information. Unless people start doing that, even if we get new members, interest will begin to fade once again. Just a thought.

Yeah, I've been part of dying forums before. It got so quiet that even when we got a new member, the person would post for a day or two and then drop off the face of the world since there were only like 4 main posters to begin with.

Yeah. I'd go on investigations if I had someone to go with me. Everyone I know would be too "WTF" about it. I replied to our new member (Pharos, I believe) because he's near me, but he never replied back with his exact location. Maybe he'll see this!

That's one of our bigger problems. People join, spout a couple posts and then disappear. Rather unfortunate.

Unfortunately right now I'm dealing with some IRL issues, so I won't be very active for a while.

I found this place through 4chan /x/. Perhaps if we advertise there, we could get more members. I would be willing to contribute to such a thread.
