So I'm thinking of trying something a little different as far as finding investigation destinations (yay for rhyming!) I'm thinking of doing what I'm calling the "Graveyard Tour". Basically, locating as many graveyards and cemeteries around town as I can and start checking them out. I don't know of any reports of haunting in the local cemeteries, but come on. They're cemeteries.

Also, I'm thinking of finding a local online community and posting "want ads" of sorts to possible get some more hits on hauntings and hopefully permission to snoop around and get pictures and EVP. Things like that. I'll probably want to make some business cards or something to make us look a bit more professional to coax people into a more accepting state of mind. Probably have to talk to my design man again. Or just get off my ass and do it myself.

Heh, I've been meaing to check out some of the smaller cemetaries around here, just never actually get to it. I pass the cemetaries on the way to work, and by the time I leave work, I just want to get home.

So I'm thinking tomorrow I'll be starting my graveyard tour. So think this is the battleplan:

http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&q=cemeteries&near=Evansville,+IN&fb=1&sa=X&oi=local_group&resnum=1&ct=image

The link above is a map of the cemeteries in the city limits. I'll be starting with "A", Park Lawn Cemetery. This is the one I'm most familiar with so it seems logical. (Random Historical Note: Directly north of the cemetery is Washington Square Mall, which was the first indoor shopping mall in the state of Indiana!) After that I think I may go to Oak Hill, and so on. Oak Hill I'm excited about because it's FUCKING GIGANTIC. On top of that there's a lot of old graves, some dating back to the Civil War, so I have high hopes for that one. Park Lawn I'm not terribly enthused about because most of my reading will probably be thrown off by all of the electrical activity in the area.

I figure I'll start the day off by heading out there and just taking some pictures in the morning for visual reference and take some readings with my luo pan compass (It's the fancy compass that's used in Feng Shui. I'm not at all knowledgeable in regards to reading the various inscriptions used to accurately describe the various energies in an area, but I'm pretty much just using it to make EMF spikes so it's really not necessary anyway.) After 6PM I'll probably head back out and take another set of readings to see if there is any change.

We found this old little cemetery in the woods in my neighborhood; apparently it was for the German settlers that sued to own like half of Austin. It was pretty spooky.

Cool, good luck. Hopefully you'll find something, whether or not its a ghost.

So Day 1 has been a bust. Went to Park Lawn, got some nice pictures and milled around a bit. Eventually, one of the people from the office came out to talk to me. No trouble or anything like that, just started talking and asked me if I had family on the property and told me to stay as long as I liked, things like that. Then he tried to convince me to start planning for a burial plot. I got a little uncomfortable being there after that, so I slowly made my way back out.

I wasn't really expecting to find anything, so no real disappointment. I think I'm gonna try to hit up Oak Hill next if I can convince my friend to come with me.
